Equipment

Equipment will be used in Halo 3 to mix up game-play and add a dynamic new factor in the way the game will be played. If used effectively, they will tip the odds in your favour. One example given is that while a bubble shield protects you from projectiles, you also cannot return fire.

Deployables - Deployables are a type of equipment that can be deployed using the X button. They can be dropped at any time, except while carrying a turret/Missile Pod or riding in a vehicle. Deployables are activated upon release.

Bubble Shield - Makes a bubble that does not allow bullets or grenades to pass either in or out.

Deplyable Cover - A portable version of the directional shields you see littered in campaign. Useful for providing a vantage point against snipers or as simply extra cover in a firefight.

Flare - Emits a blinding flash to all that look at this when it goes off, great for confusing or temporarily stunning enemies.

Portable Grav-Lift - A smaller portable version of the anti gravity lifts see previously in the Halo trilogy. The lift stays active for a short while after being dropped. However, it can be destroyed.

Power Drainer - An object that once activated emits an almost emp like blue pulse that depletes enemy shields and causes vehicles to stop. If the enemy stays in the Power Drainer's effective area for too long, they will die.

Radar Jammer - A piece of equipment that is similar to the Power Drainer, however it is red and has different effects. When activated it will cause the radars of nearby players to show large activity, and the enemy screen to flash.

Regenerator - Referred to as the "opposite of the Power Drainer". It will raise shields of players within proximity.

Trip Mine - Once activated the Trip Mine will give off an orange glow and will emit a beeping sound. The mine is great against vehicles.
